According to the source, MediaTek is currently the frontrunner as the chipset supplier, with the device expected to use the Dimensity 9600. For context, MediaTek is one of the leading chipset suppliers for Android phones. The company's latest flagship chipset is the Dimensity 9500, which powers phones like the Vivo X300, Oppo Find X9 Pro, and gaming-centric OnePlus Turbo 6 Ultra. The Dimensity 9600 is expected to launch in Q4 2026 as the company's next-generation chipset. Kuo reveals that OpenAI's smartphone will use a custom version of the Dimensity 9600.
