(Photo: LS Electric) LS Electric is expanding its supply of power distribution systems, driven by growing demand for data center infrastructure in the U.S. The company said on April 29 that it signed a contract worth about 319 billion won with Bloom Energy to supply power distribution solutions. Bloom Energy provides solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC)-based power systems across various industries. Under the agreement, LS Electric will supply switchgear, transformers and other equipment for a hyperscale data center project being developed by a global big tech company in New Mexico. Global technology firms are ramping up investments in data centers amid the rapid expansion of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry. Data centers require a stable, round-the-clock supply of large-scale electricity. An LS Electric official said investment in power distribution infrastructure in the U.S. data center market is accelerating due to rising electricity demand driven by AI adoption, adding that the company aims to secure more large-scale orders and sustain its growth momentum.
