LG CNS, 오픈AI와 손잡고 ChatGPT Edu 국내 확대 - Korea IT Times

LG CNS is accelerating its push into the education sector after signing a reseller partnership for ChatGPT Edu with OpenAI, marking a strategic expansion of its artificial intelligence transformation (AX) business. With the new agreement, LG CNS will extend its portfolio beyond enterprise AI services to include education-focused offerings. The company previously secured experience supplying ChatGPT Enterprise, and now aims to build a broader generative AI ecosystem spanning both corporate and academic environments. ChatGPT Edu is designed specifically for universities and educational institutions, offering features such as lecture material creation, research assistance, and learning support tools. The service incorporates enterprise-grade security measures to protect sensitive data, while maintaining relatively accessible pricing for institutions. The move comes as AI adoption accelerates across global education systems. Universities including Arizona State University, California State University system, and Harvard University have already introduced ChatGPT Edu to enhance teaching and research efficiency. At the national level, Estonia has expanded AI use across its secondary education system. To drive domestic adoption, LG CNS plans to conduct on-site programs targeting major universities in the Seoul metropolitan area. These include campus tours, AI utilization seminars, and potential collaborations with universities and OpenAI on AI-driven curricula and hackathon programs. The company will also provide integrated support through its “OpenAI Launch Center,” offering consulting, deployment, and technical assistance. The unit consists of AI engineers, architects, and consultants and works in collaboration with OpenAI engineers. Earlier this year, LG CNS launched its ChatGPT Enterprise business and has already secured around 10 corporate clients across industries such as manufacturing, chemicals, finance, and biotech. The latest move into the education sector is expected to further strengthen its generative AI business foundation. Kim Tae-hoon, head of the AI Cloud division at LG CNS, said the company will expand support to help educational institutions and students improve productivity in learning and research through AI technologies.
