I've used hard containers and find they can add to the road noise as things vibrate and rattle against the sides, so using these organizers quiets that noise. Now, they are not super strong or durable, but I'm nesting them inside more durable containers just to dampen the noise. Of course, most people will use them to organize things on shelves, and that is what they are really designed to do. These are a good size with comfortable handles and stiff-but-flexible sides and bottom insert. The walls and bottom insert feel about as strong as the thin cardboard backing on a cheap pad of notebook paper, but the addition of the fabric adds structure and helps them hold their shape quite nicely. They would not hold up or bounce back from being stepped on or crushed, but they hold up fine to gentle use pulling on and off shelves or in and out of deep drawers. I love this type of organizer as it will fold down flat when not in use, so it helps organize your mess and can stash away neatly when not in use.
