Dozens of missiles fall in the middle of the city as if a meteor shower is taking place. It creates the illusion that Israel's largest city is engulfed in flames. In this video set against the backdrop of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, dark smoke and flames rise as if the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, has come under attack. All of these are fakes created by AI. These fake videos have been spreading through social media since the war broke out on the 28th of last month. Most are believed to have been produced in Iran, analyzed as part of a propaganda effort claiming that Iran is winning the war. There are also these fake videos that amplify the fear of war. [AI-generated fake U.S. military video: "My American people. My screen is shattered! I can't even see my daughter's face any more!"] The New York Times reported that over 110 AI-generated fake war videos have been confirmed since the outbreak of the Middle East crisis. Social media has thus become a new battlefield for psychological warfare. These fake videos can obscure the reality of war and generate misguided public opinion.
